Speaking

I listen for what needs to be said and bring voice to what I’ve heard.

I might be the least talkative member of my immediate family, but I like to think that I’m saving my words for when they really matter. As an introvert, I spend my time with others listening to their hearts’ longings, what troubles them, and what they hope for. I listen to the voices of scripture and how it speaks to us today.

I’ve supply preached for congregations of twenty, keynoted for more than a thousand, and regularly reached 4,000 though online reflections.

  • "Many people have a gift for words, and Jo certainly demonstrates that in abundance. She also pairs these words with the gift of soul. She's able to gently nudge me into a deeper place of insight and reflection. It's the kind of opening up that stays with me and challenges me to be more of my authentic self. Whether it's a workshop, sermon, or a one-on-one, she's able to bring meaning to mystery."

During my time at Washington National Cathedral, I offered sermons from the Canterbury pulpit and participated in the rotation of daily Morning Prayer reflections.
